GKS Scholarship 2024 Algeria – Graduate Program

The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Algeria is excited to announce the launch of the Korean Government Scholarship Program (GKS) for this year. The GKS program is designed for foreign students, particularly Algerians, who aspire to pursue Master’s or Doctoral studies in South Korea.

I. GKS SCHOLARSHIP ALGERIA OBJECTIVE

The primary objective of the Korean Government Scholarship Program is to provide foreign students with the opportunity to pursue advanced studies at prestigious educational institutions in Korea. This initiative aims to enhance international education exchanges and foster mutual friendship among nations.

II. GKS SCHOLARSHIP 2024 ALGERIA QUOTA

  • Scholarships managed by the Embassy of Korea: 3 positions for Algerian students
  • Scholarships managed by universities: 8 positions for Algerian students

III. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  1. Available Study Paths
  • Comprehensive details about the academic programs offered by universities can be found on NIIED’s “Study In Korea” website at www.studyinkorea.go.kr > Scholarship > GKS Notice or by referring to the attached guideline.
  • Applicants are required to select their desired fields of study from the provided list of programs.
  • Evening classes, seasonal programs, as well as online and distance learning programs are not covered by the scholarship.
  • Prior to application, please contact the relevant department to confirm if the courses are conducted in English.

  • Postdoctoral Research or Teacher Exchange Program (6 months-1 year for individuals invited by the university)

APPLICATION PROCESS

  1. How to Apply
  • Candidates can apply for the Korean Government Scholarship Program through either the Embassy in their country or one of the universities designated by the Korean government.
  • The Korean Embassy in Algeria will select 3 students.
  • Duplicate submissions at the aforementioned offices will automatically be excluded and rejected.
  1. Application Deadline
  • Provisional deadline: March 10th, 2024, at 4 p.m.
  • Applications must be submitted directly to the Embassy; submissions via DHL, Fax, or email will not be accepted.
  • Address: Consular section of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea, 5 Chemin Mackley, Ben Aknoun, Algiers.
  • Applications received after the specified date and time will not be considered.
  • Only successful candidates will receive communication from the Embassy via phone or email on March 17, 2024, in the afternoon. (Applicants not selected for an interview will not receive feedback from the Korean Embassy.)
  • Interview Date: March 19th, 2024
  • The interview schedule will be communicated to selected candidates and cannot be changed.
  • In the event of a candidate’s absence, the next candidate in the ranking will proceed with the interview.

  • To facilitate application submission, the Embassy will accept copies of diplomas and transcripts for initial candidate selection. However, preselected candidates must present their original or authenticated and legalized copies during the interview, either at a notary office or the Embassy.
  • All documents must be in English or Korean.
  • Please organize your documents in the order specified in the “Check List” and number them at the top right corner (e.g., 1. Check List).
  • Incomplete applications will not be reviewed, and no application documents will be returned.
  • Late submissions will not be accepted.
  • If you prefer to submit your application through the university of your choice, please send your documents directly to the university.

Please note that you may only select universities and departments listed in the “University Information” file provided with the 2022 GKS-G Application Guidelines on the Study In Korea website (www.studyinkorea.go.kr > Scholarship > GKS Notice). It is advisable to contact the universities to inquire about the departments and degree programs of interest.
