Benefits of Global Network Program at KDI School
Candidates who receive an admission offer will automatically be eligible for the GKS Global Network scholarship, which includes the following benefits, subject to maintaining the necessary academic standards:

and monthly stipend (approx. 1 million KRW),

Degree Programs for GKS at KDI School
Degree (Master’s): Public Policy, Development Policy, Public Management
Students are required to apply for one major and one 1st concentration within the selected major. All students will take Data Science for Public Policy and Management as their 2nd concentration.
Study length:
1.5-year residential, on-campus learning. Students are expected to complete both the coursework and the research project within the 1.5-year residential period
Graduation requirements: 39 credits including capstone project.
Students are anticipated to arrive in Korea around early to mid-August 2024 to commence studies in early September 2024, concluding by mid-December 2025.

Beginning with the 2024 GKS-G, candidates expecting to graduate by July 31st, 2024, can now apply for the program with a certificate of expected graduation. However, they must submit their official graduation certificate (or diploma) and final academic transcript to the GKS Center, NIIED, by July 31st, 2024. Failure to comply will lead to the cancellation of your acceptance.
If your document cannot be re-issued, keep the original and obtain an apostille on a notarized copy. There may be differences in the issuance fee and period of Apostille confirmation.

Additional Points for GKS Scholarship 2024 Graduate
Applicants who hold a TOPIK level 3 or above will be given additional points (10% of the total allocated points)
Direct descendants of Korean War veterans who participated in the Korean War as a foreign military will be given additional points (5% of the total allocated points)
Additional points for Korean/English Language Proficiency
Applicants will receive additional points based on language proficiency in Korean and English
Korean: Points will be given to applicants with valid TOPIK certificate based on their TOPIK level
English: Points will be given to applicants with valid English proficiency certificates based on their test scores (TOEFL, IELTS, etc.)

GKS Scholarship 2024 will be announced very soon. Usually, the applications are open in the last week of February every year, so you still have one month to prepare in advance. This year again, the scholarship will be opened for Masters degree, Phd degree and for research programs.
There will be two tracks to apply:
1- Embassy Track 2- University Track

Eligibility Criteria for GKS 2024
Nationality:
Citizens of designated countries by NIIED are eligible.
Parents must hold citizenship outside Korea.
Degree Requirements:
Master’s Program: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
Doctoral Program: Master’s degree or equivalent.
Applicants must have obtained the required degree (minimum level of education indicated above) by February 28, 2024.
Grades:
CGPA conditions for both masters and doctoral program applicants.
Score percentile should be 80% or above on a 100-point scale or be ranked in the top 20% of one’s class
CGPA must be equal to or above 2.64/4.0, 2.80/4.3, 2.91/4.5 or 3.23/5.0
Applicants must submit an academic transcript with CGPA or ranking information
If a transcript does not provide CGPA in any one of the accepted GPA scales (4.0, 4.3, 4.5, 5.0 or 100 point scale), then the applicant must submit a transcript converted into one of the above GPA scales as a supplementary document
Age:
Applicants must be under 40 (born after September 1, 1984).
Academic professors in ODA recipients can apply up to 45 years (born after September 1, 1979).
Health:
Applicants must be in good mental and physical health throughout the program.

Additional points for Languages Starting in 2024, applicants will receive additional points based on language proficiency in Korean and English. Make sure you have IELTS/TOEFL or TOPIK certificates with you.
Extracurricular Activities Always mention any extracurricular activities that you are good at. And if possible, attach certificates of extracurricular activities along with your application.

Number of Scholarships Available for the Embassy Track (Nepal): 1 (One)
Programs: 1 year of Korean language study plus 4-6 years of degree study
Universities: Applicants can only apply to the universities and departments that are listed in the “Application Guidelines” with this notice Please refer to the “University Information” attached with the notice of NIIED.
• A score percentile of 80% or higher on a 100-point scale, or ranking in the top 20% of one’s class, is required.

• Must be under the age of 25 (born after March 1, 1999)
• Must be in good health, both mentally and physically.

Interview: Only shortlisted candidates will be invited for the interview

• Prior to submission to the Embassy, it is imperative that all necessary certificates are authenticated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) of Nepal.
