Number of Scholarships Available for the Embassy Track (Nepal): 4 (Four)
Programs: 1 year of Korean language study + Master’s (2 years) / Doctoral (3 years) study
Universities: Applicants can only apply to the universities and departments listed in the “University Information” attached to this notice.
Applicants must have obtained the required degree (minimum level of education indicated above) by July 31, 2024.
Grade: Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of the entire curriculum from the previous degree program* must meet one of the conditions below:
Score percentile should be 80% or above on a 100-point scale or be ranked in the top 20% of one’s classCGPA must be equal to or above 2.64/4.0, 2.80/4.3, 2.91/4.5, or 3.23/5.0
Age: Must be under 40 years of age (Born after September 1, 1984)
Health: All applicants must be in good health, both mentally and physically, to study in Korea for the full duration of the program.
Deadline: The applicant must check the document requirements and submit hard copies of all the required documents to the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Nepal, no later than March 04, 2024, 12:00 PM.
Interview: Only shortlisted candidates will be invited for the interview.

I. GKS SCHOLARSHIP ALGERIA OBJECTIVE
The primary objective of the Korean Government Scholarship Program is to provide foreign students with the opportunity to pursue advanced studies at prestigious educational institutions in Korea. Available Study Paths

Applicants are required to select their desired fields of study from the provided list of programs.
Evening classes, seasonal programs, as well as online and distance learning programs are not covered by the scholarship.

How to Apply
Candidates can apply for the Korean Government Scholarship Program through either the Embassy in their country or one of the universities designated by the Korean government.
The Korean Embassy in Algeria will select 3 students.
Duplicate submissions at the aforementioned offices will automatically be excluded and rejected.

Provisional deadline: March 10th, 2024, at 4 p.m.
Applications must be submitted directly to the Embassy; submissions via DHL, Fax, or email will not be accepted.

Important Notes regarding Scholarship Benefits
– If a GKS scholar withdraws from the scholarship within the first 3 months after the enrollment to their university, one MUST return the full scholarship amount that he or she has received after being selected as a GKS scholar (entry airfare, settlement allowance, monthly allowance, tuition, etc.)
– Even if 3 months have passed since entering Korea, if the scholarship status changes, part of the already paid scholarship can be refunded or can be deducted from the next payment
– Korean Language Training Fee and Korean Proficiency Grants are not provided to GKS scholars in Research program
– Korean Language Training Fee is not provided to GKS scholars in Global Network program

Embassy Track applicants who pass the 2nd round of selection will be reviewed by three universities which they initially applied to – Result Announcement: by June 7
Notify Applicant’s Choice of University (Successful Candidates ? NIIED)
Embassy Track applicants who pass the 3rd round selection should notify their final choice of university to NIIED via email – Notification deadline: by June 14
Announcement of 2023 GKS-G Scholars (NIIED)
The final successful candidates will be announced (www.studyinkorea.go.kr > Scholarship > GKS Notice) – Expected announcement date: late June – NIIED informs the final result to Embassies and Universities through official documents
Additional Points for GKS Scholarship 2024 Graduate
Applicants who hold a TOPIK level 3 or above will be given additional points (10% of the total allocated points)
Direct descendants of Korean War veterans who participated in the Korean War as a foreign military will be given additional points (5% of the total allocated points)
Additional points for Korean/English Language Proficiency
Applicants will receive additional points based on language proficiency in Korean and English
Korean: Points will be given to applicants with valid TOPIK certificate based on their TOPIK level
English: Points will be given to applicants with valid English proficiency certificates based on their test scores (TOEFL, IELTS, etc.)
