GKS Scholarship 2024 Nepal – Graduate Program

South Korean Embassy is pleased to announce the GKS Scholarship 2024 Nepal for the graduate degree programs and this is your chance to study in Korea on a fully funded scholarship.

  1. Number of Scholarships Available for the Embassy Track (Nepal): 4 (Four)
  2. Programs: 1 year of Korean language study + Master’s (2 years) / Doctoral (3 years) study
  3. Universities: Applicants can only apply to the universities and departments listed in the “University Information” attached to this notice.

  1. Eligibility:
    • Nationality: Nepali
    • Education:
      • Master’s: Minimum Bachelor’s Degree
      • Doctoral: Minimum Master’s Degree
      • Applicants must have obtained the required degree (minimum level of education indicated above) by July 31, 2024.
    • Grade: Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of the entire curriculum from the previous degree program* must meet one of the conditions below:
      • Score percentile should be 80% or above on a 100-point scale or be ranked in the top 20% of one’s classCGPA must be equal to or above 2.64/4.0, 2.80/4.3, 2.91/4.5, or 3.23/5.0
    • Age: Must be under 40 years of age (Born after September 1, 1984)
    • Health: All applicants must be in good health, both mentally and physically, to study in Korea for the full duration of the program.
  2. Deadline: The applicant must check the document requirements and submit hard copies of all the required documents to the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Nepal, no later than
    March 04, 2024, 12:00 PM.
  3. Interview: Only shortlisted candidates will be invited for the interview.
  4. Application guideline: Please go through the Application Guidelines for Graduate Degrees, Application Forms, and University Information before submitting the documents.

?Note:

• All the required certificates must be attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) of Nepal.

• Documents written in languages other than English and Korean must be attested by MoFA, and their certified translation must be submitted.

• The required certificates will be Consular Confirmed by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Nepal for the successful candidates after the Interview round. (The Embassy will contact the candidates for consular confirmation.)

Interested candidates for the GKS Scholarship 2024 Philippines are kindly requested to carefully review and adhere to the following guidelines and accompanying documents.

  • Applicants must submit ONE (1) set of original application forms and THREE (3) sets of photocopied application forms.
  • All documents must follow the checklist (‘Application Checklist’) order on the first page of the application forms. Each required document must be numbered and labeled on the top right corner (e.g., 9. Proof of Citizenship).
  • The recommendation letter must be sealed and signed by the recommender (only ONE recommendation letter is required).
  • All documents must be A4-sized (for documents in another size, refer to attachments).
  • Personal statement and study plan should NOT exceed 1,000 words each, respectively.
  1. Modes of Submission
  • Documents will be accepted through mail courier services (i.e., LBC, DHL, JRS, etc.).
  • For same-day courier submissions (Grab / Lalamove / etc.), provide the following details:
    • Recipient’s name: GKS In-charge

    • FOR GRAB / LALAMOVE DELIVERY: Inform the rider that there is NO NEED TO CALL. The documents may be left with the embassy guards upon arrival.
  • Applicants may drop off their documents at the embassy gate in care of the guards. However, applicants are NOT allowed to enter the embassy premises.
  • Label applications with your names and “GKS Application” for the guards’ reference.
  • The embassy holds no liability for any loss of documents during same-day delivery or mail courier services.

GKS Scholarship 2024 Algeria – Graduate Program

The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Algeria is excited to announce the launch of the Korean Government Scholarship Program (GKS) for this year. The GKS program is designed for foreign students, particularly Algerians, who aspire to pursue Master’s or Doctoral studies in South Korea.

I. GKS SCHOLARSHIP ALGERIA OBJECTIVE

The primary objective of the Korean Government Scholarship Program is to provide foreign students with the opportunity to pursue advanced studies at prestigious educational institutions in Korea. This initiative aims to enhance international education exchanges and foster mutual friendship among nations.

II. GKS SCHOLARSHIP 2024 ALGERIA QUOTA

  • Scholarships managed by the Embassy of Korea: 3 positions for Algerian students
  • Scholarships managed by universities: 8 positions for Algerian students

III. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  1. Available Study Paths
  • Comprehensive details about the academic programs offered by universities can be found on NIIED’s “Study In Korea” website at www.studyinkorea.go.kr > Scholarship > GKS Notice or by referring to the attached guideline.
  • Applicants are required to select their desired fields of study from the provided list of programs.
  • Evening classes, seasonal programs, as well as online and distance learning programs are not covered by the scholarship.
  • Prior to application, please contact the relevant department to confirm if the courses are conducted in English.

APPLICATION PROCESS

  1. How to Apply
  • Candidates can apply for the Korean Government Scholarship Program through either the Embassy in their country or one of the universities designated by the Korean government.
  • The Korean Embassy in Algeria will select 3 students.
  • Duplicate submissions at the aforementioned offices will automatically be excluded and rejected.
  1. Application Deadline
  • Provisional deadline: March 10th, 2024, at 4 p.m.
  • Applications must be submitted directly to the Embassy; submissions via DHL, Fax, or email will not be accepted.
  • Address: Consular section of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea, 5 Chemin Mackley, Ben Aknoun, Algiers.
  • Applications received after the specified date and time will not be considered.
  • Only successful candidates will receive communication from the Embassy via phone or email on March 17, 2024, in the afternoon. (Applicants not selected for an interview will not receive feedback from the Korean Embassy.)
  • Interview Date: March 19th, 2024
  • The interview schedule will be communicated to selected candidates and cannot be changed.
  • In the event of a candidate’s absence, the next candidate in the ranking will proceed with the interview.

  • To facilitate application submission, the Embassy will accept copies of diplomas and transcripts for initial candidate selection. However, preselected candidates must present their original or authenticated and legalized copies during the interview, either at a notary office or the Embassy.
  • All documents must be in English or Korean.
  • Please organize your documents in the order specified in the “Check List” and number them at the top right corner (e.g., 1. Check List).
  • Incomplete applications will not be reviewed, and no application documents will be returned.
  • Late submissions will not be accepted.
  • If you prefer to submit your application through the university of your choice, please send your documents directly to the university.

GKS Scholarship 2024 Greece & Albania – Graduate Program


The National Institute for International Education (NIIED) of the Republic of Korea is seeking international students for the GKS Scholarship 2024 Greece and Albania for the Graduate Programs.

Interested applicants of the Global Korea Scholarship should submit all required documents and forms to the Embassy by no later than Thursday, March 7, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. local time.

Important Notice

Eligibility for GKS Scholarship 2024 Indonesia

    ? Applicants and their parents must hold foreign citizenship (non-Korean citizenship).

    ? Applicants must be under 40 years old as of September 1, 2024 (born after September 1, 1984).

    ? Applicants must hold or expect to hold a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral degree by July 31, 2024.

    ? Applicants expected to graduate at the time of application must submit a certificate of expected graduation. The official degree certificate (or diploma) and final academic transcript must be submitted by July 31, 2024, at the latest.

    ? Grades: Applicants must maintain an overall grade point average (CGPA) equivalent to or higher than any ONE of the following scales from their respective universities:

    • 2.64 on a 4.0 scale;
    • 2.80 on a 4.3 scale;
    • 2.91 on a 4.5 scale;
    • 3.23 on a 5.0 scale; or
    • Score percentile: 80% or above on a 100-point scale or be ranked within the top 20% of one’s class.

    ? Accepted English proficiency tests: TOEFL and IELTS only.

    ? Applicants must select THREE different desired universities and available fields of study from the 59 universities listed in section III (Type A + Type B) of the attached guidelines, INCLUDING at least one university from Type B.

    2024 GKS Scholarship India – Graduate Program

    The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in New Delhi is pleased to announce the “2024 GKS Scholarship India,” inviting Indian students to embark on their Graduate Degree journey in Korea.

    Eligible Indian students can seek this scholarship opportunity through the ‘Embassy Track‘ and are required to submit their applications to the Korean Embassy in New Delhi.

    Quota for 2024 GKS Scholarship India

    NIIED has increased the quota for Indian students for 2024. Last year, a total of 50 students from India were invited to study in Korea for FREE through the Global Korea Scholarship, this year, the quota has doubled.

    In 2024, the Korean Government invites up to 2,200 students globally, welcoming them to pursue their studies in South Korea through the GKS Scholarship Graduate Programs, which include Masters, Doctoral, and Research programs.     Benefits of GKS Scholarship 2024 Graduate

    The 2024 GKS Scholarship stands out as a globally renowned award, offering more than just airfare and tuition coverage. Recipients also receive a generous stipend, free Korean language training, degree completion grant, thesis printing fee and comprehensive medical insurance.

    Here’s a glimpse of the benefits of the GKS Scholarship 2024 Graduate Program.

    1) Airfare:

    • Economy class flight ticket (actual expense)

    2) Free Tuition

    • NIIED: up to 5 million KRW
    • University: amount that exceeds 5 million KRW, Admission fee

    3) Korean Language Training Fee

    • 5.2 million KRW (four quarters)

    4) Study Incentive

    • Korean language program: 14,100,000 KRW per year
    • Graduate Degree program: 15,700,000 KRW per year
    • Research Program: 19,800,000 KRW per year

    Study Incentive :

    All-inclusive subsidy of Settlement Allowance, Monthly Allowance, Research Allowance, Korean Proficiency Grants, TOPIK Application Fee, Degree Completion Grants, Medical Insurance, and Publication Printing Fee.

    Korean Proficiency Grant:

    GKS Scholars who will be initially exempted from the Korean language program with TOPIK level 5 or 6 will be given Korean Proficiency Grants automatically. (except for GKS scholars in the Global Network program, Research program, and Japanese applicants)

    Important Notes regarding Scholarship Benefits 

    – If a GKS scholar withdraws from the scholarship within the first 3 months after the enrollment to their university, one MUST return the full scholarship amount that he or she has received after being selected as a GKS scholar (entry airfare, settlement allowance, monthly allowance, tuition, etc.) 

    – Even if 3 months have passed since entering Korea, if the scholarship status changes, part of the already paid scholarship can be refunded or can be deducted from the next payment 

    – Korean Language Training Fee and Korean Proficiency Grants are not provided to GKS scholars in Research program 

    – Korean Language Training Fee is not provided to GKS scholars in Global Network program

    Apply Now For GKS Scholarship 2024 Graduate Programs

    And the wait is over. The most anticipated Global Korea Scholarship i.e GKS Scholarship 2024 Graduate has been announced and this is your chance to study in Korea on a fully funded scholarship.

    In 2024, the Korean government has decided to invite 2,200 international students for the Global Korea Scholarship 2024 Graduate degree programs. Applicants can apply via Embassy Track or University Track, the details of which can be found below.

    Global Korea Scholarship is designed to provide international students with opportunities to study at higher educational institutions in Korea to pursue academic degrees, which will enhance international education exchange and deepen mutual friendship between Korea and participating countries.

    Application Tracks

    GKS Scholarship 2024 Information

    Scholarship Period 

    • Master’s Degree Program: 3 years 
      – 1 year of Korean language program + 2 years of degree program 
    • Doctoral Degree Program: 4 years 
      – 1 year of Korean language program + 3 years of degree program 
    • Research Program: 6 months or 1 year 
    • Global Network Program: within 2 years 
      – Master’s degree program within 2 years 
    • Important Notes regarding Scholarship Period 

    – Research and Global Network program scholars, all scholars who obtained TOPIK level 5 or 6 will be exempt from a Korean language program 

    – Those who receive TOPIK level 5 or 6 within the first 6 months of the Korean language program will be exempt from the remaining 6-month language program and must start their degree program in the following semester (March 2025)

    Announcement of 2023 GKS-G Scholars (NIIED) The final successful candidates will be announced  (www.studyinkorea.go.kr > Scholarship > GKS Notice)  – Expected announcement date: late June  – NIIED informs the final result to Embassies and Universities through official documents 

    Additional Points for GKS Scholarship 2024 Graduate

    • Applicants who hold a TOPIK level 3 or above will be given additional points (10% of the total allocated points)
    • Direct descendants of Korean War veterans who participated in the Korean War as a foreign military will be given additional points (5% of the total allocated points)

    Additional points for Korean/English Language Proficiency

    Applicants will receive additional points based on language proficiency in Korean and English

    • Korean: Points will be given to applicants with valid TOPIK certificate based on their TOPIK level
    • English: Points will be given to applicants with valid English proficiency certificates based on their test scores (TOEFL, IELTS, etc.)
